Well it appears Google loves Africa as much as we do - the $10,000 Google Grant program is now available for nonprofits registered in Botswana and Kenya.
If you are not familiar with the Google Grant program, essentially Google provides eligible nonprofits with $10,000 in free online advertising through AdWords, which can mean an additional 5,000 visitors to your website. You can learn more about the program here.
Nonprofits can greatly benefit the additional traffic to raise awareness about their organization, connect further with potential donors, and further meet their goals and objectives online.
Our founder has managed over $20,000,000 worth of Google Grants over the past 10 years and recently wrote a great blog post on the challenges and opportunities in using Google Grants.
Google has also expanded its program in South Africa where nonprofits are now eligible to apply for the Google for Nonprofits program - which provides free versions of Google Apps as well as premium branding on YouTube.
